Apple Watch Gets New Bands & Watch Face Just In Time For Pride Month
Starting with the new watch bands, the first one is a Pride-themed Sport Loop band. The band has white edges with rainbow colors from different pride flags throughout the entire length of the band. The back of the band also has a nice touch, spelling ‘Pride’ in the same cursive style as the famous ‘Hello’ greeting on the 1984 Macintosh. And Apple didn’t stop with just one Pride band this year. Also available is the Pride Edition Nike Sport Loop, which pairs the rainbow colors with a sleeker black frame for the watch band.
And, of course, it wouldn’t be complete without a new Pride watch face. This year’s watch face is the Pride Threads one. It’s designed to mimic the woven threads of the Pride-themed Sport Loop watch band while “each strand of vibrant thread contributes to the overall composition of the watch face.” And like other watch faces, the threads on the Pride Threads watch face interact with how you use your Apple Watch — including when you tap the display, move the Digital Crown, or raise your wrist to look at the time.
Apple is rolling out the Pride Threads watch face right now to anyone with an Apple Watch Series 4 or later. If you’re interested in the new watch bands, both the Pride Edition Sport Loop and Pride Edition Nike Sport Loop will be available starting today for $49 each.
