Bethenny Frankel Calls RHUGT Season 2 A ‘Psycho Ward’
Bethenny Frankel called The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip season 2 a “psycho ward.” The television personality became a Bravo icon after her tenure on The Real Housewives of New York City. Bethenny helped build RHONY from the ground up, starring in eight seasons out of 13 since the show’s 2008 premiere. She’s considered one of the franchise’s most successful breakout stars, using her platform to transition into major ventures as a talk show host, entrepreneur, author, philanthropist and even producer of her own HBO Max reality show The Big Shot. Of course, despite her whirlwind work ethic, fans ultimately want to see Bethenny back on their television screens.

Since its announcement in 2019, The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip has been raising viewers’ hopes of seeing old favorites return to the Housewives world. RHUGT Season 1 premiered in 2021 and proved to be a smash hit, plopping Kyle Richards, Teresa Giudice, Melissa Gorga, Cynthia Bailey, Kenya Moore, Luann de Lesseps and Ramona Singer on the Turks and Caicos Islands. The second installment is taking a darker turn, uniting some of the most controversial women in Housewives history at Dorinda Medley’s beloved home, Blue Stone Manor.
While chatting with Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live, Bethenny called RHUGT season 2 a “psycho ward,” among other things. The ex-housewife chimed in when a fan asked if her pal Dorinda had spilled any tea about the series. After saying she heard rumblings from a couple of different people, Bethenny said, “I heard it was crazy. I heard it was a different vibe than what went on on the first one with the other girls. I heard it was a little bit of a pressure-cooker-cabin…psycho ward!” Check out the full clip below:
Andy agreed vehemently with Bethenny, saying the cast was his own twisted fantasy. After the Bravo mastermind listed off the cast, who are collectively being called the ex-wives club, Bethenny said it sounded “tragic.” The RHUGT season 2 cast includes former The Real Housewives of Atlanta stars Phaedra Parks and Eva Marcille, former The Real Housewives of Orange County stars Vicki Gunvalson and Tamra Judge, former The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills stars Taylor Armstrong and Brandi Glanville, and former RHONY stars Jill Zarin and Dorinda Medley.
Speculation swirling around RHUGT season 2 has already pointed toward major meltdowns. The fact that Bethenny, who never minces words, is saying she’s heard how tumultuous it is speaks volumes. Perhaps all of the positive feedback and viewership for the new RHUGT series will entice Bethenny herself to one day sign on. While the reality star has hung up her Housewives hat for now, she did recently say that she’d be up for joining OG’s NeNe Leakes, Teresa Giudice and Lisa Vanderpump on a spin-off show. If audiences are lucky, this could be the RHUGT cast down the line.
The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip season 2 premieres June 23 on Peacock.
