Butterfly Toilet Paper Roll Craft

This arty butterfly toilet paper roll craft will actually make an amazing wall display.
For that reason, and if you’re using paper towel rolls or craft rolls, this one makes for a cool classroom project – just think of the beautiful wall display with colorful paper roll butterflies.

Crafting from toilet paper rolls, although we usually use paper towel rolls, is a frugal and popular crafting material.
You can make all kinds of wonderful creations with something as simple as a roll of paper (just check out these toilet paper roll bees for example).
There are also many ways to make them, we usually paint the scroll and decorate it to create a character, but this time we do it a little differently.
These butterflies just require a little more skill because you have to cut the roll (or they have to be pre-cut by a parent/teacher). But actually, making toilet paper roll butterflies is quite easy.

How to make a DIY toilet paper butterfly
What do you need:
toilet paper roll (one or more, alternatively paper towel rolls or store-bought DIY rolls)
white school glue
paints
paint brushes
the scissors
canvas or card stock

Follow the step by step instructions

Press down on the paper roll to make it flat.

Start by cutting the roll of paper into 6 roughly equal parts. Push If 6 rolls of one toilet paper seems difficult, use 2 rolls of paper.

Set aside the 5 and take one. Cut at one end (along the fold). Fold over, glue down to form antenna, hold together for a while for glue to set (or use clothespins or paperclips to hold together).

Prepare your canvas (you can also paint it). Dip one side of the mini paper rolls in glue and glue it to the center (bottom half) of the canvas. This will make the body of the butterfly.

Also dip the other rolls in glue and glue them to the canvas, forming the wings of the butterfly.

Glue the antenna above the body.

Let the glue dry. Choose your favorite paint colors. Paint the inside of the toilet paper rolls.

All of your toilet paper roll butterflies are ready to display.
