Construction Paper Chick Craft
Oh, we love a good and easy Easter paper craft, and this construction paper chicken craft is just that. It’s a fun project even for small children and an easy-to-love decoration for kids.
It’s also great class work and if you ask each of the students to make one it will be the cutest little poster board (just do it without the paper base).
You can even make a very large one out of poster paper as a decoration for your home or classroom.

Ah, fun Easter crafts! It’s all about chicks, bunnies and eggs – and we love making fun projects with them all. Oh and the sheep! Lots of great crafting topics.
As we love to make things with construction paper, this one was just waiting to be made – we made a simple paper bunny like this a while ago and it was a hit.
I think these construction paper chicks are even better, I mean look how silly one of them looks – see the eyes? Mad!
How to make crafts with construction paper chicks
If you get big enough chicks, you can even hide an Easter egg (full of plastic?) inside their bodies. Talk about a fun surprise.
What do you need:
- bright yellow construction paper
- orange construction paper
- green construction paper

- the scissors

Step by step instructions
To your scissors! Just a tip – if you’re planning this activity in class and plan to do all the cutouts we do, we recommend using a paper cutter instead.
Cut two strips of yellow construction paper, one slightly wider, the other slightly thinner and shorter.
Also cut out two wing shapes.
Apply a small amount of glue to one end of the paper strip…
…and glue it to the other end of the paper strip to form a paper tube.
Repeat with the smaller strip of yellow construction paper.
Apply glue to one of the paper tubes…
…and stick them on top of each other. You made your chick’s body out of construction paper.
Glue the wings to the body. We glued ours inside the larger paper tube.
Cut the base out of green construction paper.
Cut out the legs from orange card stock.
Also, clip the beak while you’re around.
Take the little orange feet and glue them to the green base.
Apply glue to the base, the sides of the feet and lightly to the base and glue the construction paper to your chick’s body.
Glue it to the beak.
And stickers for wiggly eyes or bulging eyes.
Everything is fine !
