Cyberpunk 2077 DLC Leak Hints at New Areas to Explore in Pacifica
An apparent Cyberpunk 2077 leak seems to detail the game’s first expansion, which will take players back into the Pacifica District and add an alternate ending to the game. CD Projekt Red’s sci-fi role-playing game had an infamously unstable launch, but the beloved developer continues working to improve and expand the experience over time. A Cyberpunk 2077 expansion release in 2023 was recently confirmed by the developer, and that upcoming content has supposedly been leaked.
While the game was highly anticipated prior to launch, Cyberpunk 2077 turned out to be one of the most disappointing game releases in recent history. The game launched in an extremely unpolished state, with performance issues and missing content marring the experience for many. However, since then CD Projekt Red has released a number of free Cyberpunk 2077 updates focused on fixing bugs, improving performance and adding highly-requested features. While this ongoing support is appreciated, some fans fear that the recent announcement of The Witcher 4 means that the futuristic title will be abandoned. The Cyberpunk 2077 update roadmap was quietly delayed last year, though CD Projekt Red assures its fans that an expansion will arrive in 2023.

A post from Reddit user Nihas0 (via Video Games Chronicle) reveals that files from the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 expansion have been leaked. According to the Redditor, every line of dialogue from the expansion was accidentally added into the game’s files along with a recent patch. The dataminer who discovered these files has released them publicly, essentially outlining the entire plot of the DLC. The Cyberpunk 2077 expansion will reportedly take players to the Combat Zone, a currently inaccessible part of the upper-class Pacifica District. The DLC is expected to include seven main missions and new world encounters, and completing the expansion will apparently unlock an alternate ending to the main campaign.
While the Combat Zone sounds like an interesting area to visit, outer space DLC for Cyberpunk 2077 has been on some players’ wishlists since launch. The sci-fi title’s lore does mention the use of space stations to colonize the stars, and the game’s Arasaka ending sees protagonist V journey into orbit. A theoretical space DLC for Cyberpunk 2077 could take players to O’Neill 1, a former space station that became a cosmic nation after a violent revolt. Though CD Projekt Red is still working to improve Night City, visiting space could be a great change of pace from the game’s main setting.
Cyberpunk 2077 is still a work in progress, but it seems that key details have already leaked about next year’s paid expansion. The datamine suggests that players will fight through the Combat Zone, encounter a character named Songbird and potentially change V’s fate at the end of the game. However, only time will tell whether these reported leaks actually come to fruition.
Cyberpunk 2077 is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC and Google Stadia.
