How to make an elephant corner

What do you need:

  • blue or gray origami paper
  • blue or gray paper
  • black marker
  • the scissors
  • gum
  • fidget stickers or googly eyes (optional)

step by step tutorial

Prepare a sheet of origami paper. We use blue, but gray, purple (or any other color) will work just as well.

Fold the paper diagonally in half with the white side inward to form a triangle.

Fold one of the layers of paper (holding the top of the triangle) down.

A white square will appear inside the triangle.

Now center the right corner of the triangle. Do the neat folding and unfolding.

Do the same with the other side.

Now take the same right corner but this time go up it.

Repeat with the other corner (a diamond shape will be formed).

Tuck the tops into the “pocket”. The corner bookmark is complete. Now let’s turn it into an elephant sign.

Cut two large ears from the other paper.

You can make the ears symmetrical by first folding the paper in half and cutting out both ears at the same time.

Also cut the stem (and if you want the wires).

Glue the trunk to the corner bookmark.

Do the same with the ears.

Now add the details with a black marker.

You can draw eyes with a marker or use wiggly or googly eye stickers.
