Hidetaka Miyazaki reveals more about Edge Elden Ring cover star Godfrey

Edge magazine

Hidetaka Miyazaki made his debut as Godfrey, this month’s Edge magazine star.

At E367 (available now on Magazines Direct), Miyazaki was asked about the towering figure on the cover of Edge, who can be seen holding a giant axe, and Miyazaki explains the significance of the character representing a new direction for From. . Software.

Miyazaki says, “Talking to George RR Martin, there were these themes and these ideas for creating artwork for the bosses of these main characters in the story. And when he wrote the mythos, we wanted him to create these dramatic heroes of that ancient mythos that predate the events of the game.

“These dramatic and heroic characters didn’t really exist in our previous games, so that was something that really appealed to me – how it would portray the mysterious and heroic qualities of these characters. And Godfrey, the character in your cover art, in is kind of the epitome. He’s one of the most important players in the game.”

Miyazaki also gives us more background on the history of Elden Ring by explaining how Godfrey has played a role in the actor’s journey: “He represents everything that is great about Elden Ring and The Lands. Between at the time. Eventually, he was exiled from the Lands in between. He’s darkened and shares that deep connection with his player character, Tarnished. Godfrey is the embodiment of their long history and their struggles. It represents many things that the player character stands for and symbolizes a deep connection to the player – something that once shone through and is now tarnished and discredited.

This is just some of what Miyazaki has to say about the highly anticipated RPG, plus more on what to expect from Elden Ring, and a chance to find out more about the Dark creator’s politics. Soul not to play its own games, rest assured. To get your copy of Edge 367 today.
