How Scarlet Witch has changed from WandaVision to Doctor Strange 2, according to Elizabeth Olsen
Ahead of Doctor Strange’s release in The Multiverse of Madness, Elizabeth Olsen spoke to GamesRadar+ about how Wanda has changed since WandaVision.
When we last left Wanda of Olsen, she had lost her two sons and Vision and was busy roaming the legendary Darkhold in her new Scarlet Witch guise. While it’s unclear exactly how much time has passed, WandaVision’s closeness to Avengers: Endgame and the Doctor Strange sequel that followed Spider-Man: No Way Home means it’s probably been a while. since the events of Westview.
How has Wanda changed since then? Olsen is keen to point out that the events of WandaVision still cast a long shadow and affected his character.
“There’s a lot to learn at the end of this show,” Olsen says. “I think there’s a part of her that feels a kind of determination to let her fate be that legendary Scarlet Witch, despite being in charge of Westview and needing to escape.”
Still, Wanda is more comfortable in her own skin when Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness shows up: “I think we find her in a confidence and a clarity that we don’t see,” Olsen reveals.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness hits theaters in the UK on May 5 and in the US on May 6.
