How To Destroy Icebergs Easily In Dread Hunger

Once Explorers reach their final obstacle, they will need to retrieve nitroglycerin from the old expedition camp. The camp can be reached by following the path up the side of the mountain, but the conditions are harsh and there will be several enemies to fight off, including packs of wolves, polar bears, and any groups of cannibals called in by the Thralls. After reaching the camp, the crew will need to have one person dedicated to delivering the explosives while the others protect them.

As the carrier, the easiest way in Dread Hunger to get nitroglycerin to the iceberg is to run until enemies are spotted, then stay back from the fight until it’s safe to sprint again. Players also have the option of dropping the nitroglycerin and joining the fight, but it’s not recommended. Dropping the crate will leave it vulnerable, and any Thralls in the group can easily set it off, potentially killing multiple Explorers. As a player on the protection team, eliminating enemies that are targeting the nitroglycerin carrier is the top priority. Thralls may send cannibals after whoever is carrying the explosives, so any Explorers protecting them should stand in the way of the enemies and take them out before they can reach their target.

Since Dread Hunger is primarily a social deduction game, it can be hard to determine who to trust when transporting the nitroglycerin. Letting a Thrall pick up the explosives can lead to a catastrophic ending for the Explorers, but it’s just as dangerous to have one of these imposters on the protection team. Since the iceberg is at the end of the match, Thralls will likely do whatever it takes to kill the Explorers rather than play it safe to conceal their identity. As the match nears its end, players should carefully consider who will carry the nitroglycerin and who will help deliver it.

As a last resort, players can ram the iceberg with the ship, but whether or not it breaks depends on how much force it’s hit with and how much health it has. At full health, the iceberg will need to be rammed several times, but this can quickly create too many holes in the ship which will need to be repaired quickly to avoid sinking. Gunpowder does a minimal amount of damage to the iceberg as well. Although there are other methods, the most reliable way to destroy the iceberg in Dread Hunger is to transport a crate of nitroglycerin and blow it up.
