How to draw a dinosaur step by step
In this tutorial, we are going to teach your kids to draw a dinosaur that looks like a T-rex or a velociraptor, two of the most popular dinosaurs. The steps are really easy to follow, just like our other tutorials on how to draw, the result should always look great. You can also try.
What do you need:
- our printable drawing guide (optional)
- black pen or marker
- paper
Step by step car drawing instructions
Step 1
Start by drawing the head. Start at the good end and make an “egg-like” shape, not a full egg shape.
It doesn’t have to be exactly the same, it could be more square or more rounded or oval, it will still be awesome.
2nd step
Then let’s make a face. Draw an eye and an arc above the eye (like an eyebrow). Draw a line for the mouth and make nostrils above the mouth line.
Step 3
Finish the face by drawing pointy teeth under the mouth.
Next comes the neck. Continue with the line on the right and make a curved line on the left, like a round parenthesis.
Step 4
You can’t draw a dinosaur, especially a T-rex, without pretty hands. Make a hand. When you’re done, draw the back line.

Back leg up.
Step 6
Bring it all together by drawing a curved line for the belly and drawing a tail.
Step 7
You already know how to draw a pair of legs, so draw the pair in the background as well.
Step 8
Now draw lines following the belly line from the head to the tip of the tail.
Step 9
Decorate! Draw lines on the belly and lines or dots on the back to give your dinosaur texture.
