How to make a fortune teller?
What do you need
- a piece of square paper / origami paper
- If you are making a puppet, you will also need scissors, colored paper, glue…
Step-by-step folding instructions
Start with a square sheet of paper / a sheet of origami paper. You can use plain paper for a plain paper fortune teller – you can also use construction paper for the chirping puppets. That works well.
Start folding. To make a long rectangle, first fold the origami paper in half. Make the fold clean. Hunger.
Continue by folding the origami paper in half again, this time on the other side. Make a nice fold. Hunger. You should see a “bump” on your square sheet of paper.
Tip: You can also make diagonal folds – this will make the last step easier. We usually skip this because it makes the puppets grabbing the tokens look cooler.
Turn the paper over, the colored side or the drawing side of the fortune teller should face the table.
Start folding by bringing one of the corners to the center of the paper.
Do the same for the other 3 corners. Fold everything towards the middle. Bend well.
When you fold all the corners towards the middle, you get a square shape again.
Flip the paper.
Start folding again – bring the corners to the middle.
Do the same for the other 3 corners.
Fold it in half. “Close” – when you fold it in half, the “triangles” should be on the inside and the “squares” should be on the outside (see photo below).
There are “openings” on one side of the rectangle. Push your fingers into these openings and shake them around a bit, as you continue to wiggle your butt plug will begin to form.
Congratulations! You have learned to be a fortune teller! Now let’s get to the fun part and make some original puppets.
