How to Make a Google Docs Envelope Template

Print free envelopes with attachments

Google Docs doesn’t make it easy to create envelopes. Unlike other word processors, there are no built-in menu buttons or envelope templates to instantly create a pre-sized page for you to build on.

But it has plugin support. You can install a Google Docs wrapper plugin to access the list of page sizes that transform the document in seconds. All you have to do is organize it with names and addresses and you’ll be ready to print your own envelopes.

These guidelines apply to Chrome, Edge, etc. It works from the desktop site in any modern browser such as

Install an envelope template add-on

Envelope printing is all about choosing the right page size. Google has a handful of predefined sizes. Layout parameter, but we’ll use a plugin to make this even easier.

Select one of the sizes to convert the document immediately. You will need to know the size of the envelope to be able to match it in millimeters.

If the envelope size you need is not listed, you can choose another add-on called Page Sizer which allows you to set any size. If you’re confused about envelope sizes, here’s a list of standard envelope sizes; There are also conversions between millimeters and inches.

Add addresses to the envelope

Now that you have created the envelope format page, you can now modify it to include addresses and names. Give the font the color and size you want, as if you were editing a regular document.

You will probably need to double click on the header to enter the return address. This tongue key is your friend here, so you use it for alignment purposes when you need it.

If you want the return address to be closer to the left margin, feel free to change the margin size to: Case > Layout. Set the left margin to: 0 so you can narrow down exactly where the address should be.

Create a Google Docs Envelope Template

When the page is fully set up and the addresses are placed correctly, you now have an envelope template. You can modify other envelopes when you need to print them, or copy them as many times as you want and turn them into a template.

to go Case > make a copy to copy and keep the original. Give it a different name and edit it with a different address to create another envelope.
