Lucasfilm Head Addresses Rumors Of Rey Skywalker Being A Kenobi

As exciting as it is to think of the possibility that Rey and Obi-Wan are related, Kennedy actually makes a great point here. Throughout his appearances in Star Wars, Obi-Wan has always proven that he is a stickler for the rules. In Star Wars: The Clone Wars, he was hopelessly in love with Duchess Satine Kryze, but never really made any move to act on it because of his sworn Jedi code. It’s difficult to imagine that he would ultimately turn his back and father a child with someone else. The upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series will test his faith as he goes through the darkest point of his life. The original Star Wars film has already revealed, however, that in the end, he will survive it and continue his mission to keep an eye on young Luke Skywalker. This emphasizes just how committed he is to the Jedi’s cause.

Would it have been better if Rey ended up being a Kenobi?
