There is a wholesome edge to Moon Knight’s actions in this issue and form a stark contrast to his depictions in recent years. While Moon Knight would not let an innocent person die, watching him act as a counselor trying to talk down a suicidal college student seems out of line with the Moon Knight of recent years. Moon Knight has lived through serious trauma in his life, and in recent years that manifested as anger and violence. This was not always the case, as here Moon Knight tries to instill some perspective in Lula and attempt to get her to see the whole picture. What makes it incredible is he actually gets through to her; for the rest of Lula’s life, she will owe a debt to Moon Knight, for not only saving her life, but setting her down a new and better path. In the pages of Moon Knight’s recent title, he has reaffirmed his purpose by disabusing himself from Khonshu, but Moon Knight also established the Midnight Mission, which so far has saved numerous lives in its short existence. Perhaps it can be argued that when Moon Knight saved Lula, it presaged the Midnight Mission?
