Netflix unveils first look at Chris Hemsworth, Jurnee Smollett, and Miles Teller in new mind-bending sci-fi

Netflix has revealed its first look at Chris Hemsworth, Jurnee Smollett and Miles Teller in the upcoming sci-fi movie Spiderhead – but the images don’t say much in terms of the trippy premise.

The film adapts George Saunders’ short story Spider-Head Escape and follows two inmates, Jeff (Teller) and Lizzy (Smollett), as they agree to dose surgically implanted devices with a variety of mind-altering drugs, the mood and abilities in return. . for reduced penalties and easier driving when locked.

Steve Abnesti (Hemsworth) runs the state-of-the-art prison. Jeff and Lizzy’s time on the inside takes a darker and more twisted turn as the genius visionary’s growing experiences begin to weigh on their free will.

Deadpool’s Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick wrote the screenplay, while Joseph Kosinski, who recently worked with Teller on Top Gun: Maverick, directed the film. It also stars Mark Paguio, Tess Haubrich, Angie Milliken and Stephen Tongun.

“He has lofty intentions for the character of Hemsworth, but there are dark things lurking beneath the surface,” the filmmaker told Entertainment Weekly, describing Jeff as “a man struggling with a mistake he has. committed in his past and trying to understand it”. Learn to go beyond.
