Netflix’s Resident Evil Show Images Give Best Look Yet At Zombie Dog

The Tyrant Virus, or T-Virus as it is commonly referred to in the games, is the man-made plague responsible for turning much of the human population into zombies. Unlike many other zombie shows and movies, however, the plague in Resident Evil also affects animals, including domesticated pets, turning them into bloodthirsty killing machines, as was first seen outside of the games in 2002’s Resident Evil. The upcoming series has already been confirmed to be canon to the original games, signaling that the Umbrella Corporation will again be responsible for the outbreak of the virus, including Jade’s father Albert, who can be seen in one of the images walking with Nuñez’s Evelyn Marcus.

While the Resident Evil adaptations have varied wildly in quality, the upcoming Netflix series looks to be one of the strongest and most faithful ones yet. Last year’s Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City failed to strike a chord with audiences or critics, meaning Netflix’s Resident Evil has an opportunity to finally deliver a scary, action-packed show in the same universe as the games that so many have come to love. It remains to be seen whether Resident Evil will be a hit with audiences when it releases on July 14, but the latest batch of new images suggests that, at the very least, the show will feature a strong, diverse cast and some truly frightening monsters.
