New details on PS5 horror shooter Quantum Error in latest issue of Official PlayStation Magazine

Official PlayStation Magazine spoke to the developers of PS5 horror game Quantum Error to find out more about the enigmatic game, including how the developers were “dreaming and praying” for the game to have a launch title.

Head of game developer Teamkill Media revealed ambitious launch plans for Quantum Error during a chat with Micah Jones in issue #175. PS5. However, we dream and pray to release it as a PS5 launch title, and we believe that if you decide something and work hard, you can accomplish anything.

The magazine also has more details on what to expect from the shooter. It is set in the year 2109 and will revolve around a fight against a population that has been transformed into drones by a disturbing operating system in a futuristic and now very freezing San Francisco.

Jones said it would be more than just a casual horror game, saying “the journey will reveal devious plans to transcend dimensions and communicate with mysterious beings living in the depths of the cosmos.” It looks like he’ll have hints of Doom 3 in his DNA, which isn’t really a bad thing. If you haven’t seen it yet, here’s the game’s trailer.

According to Jones, while the game is being developed for PS4 and PS5, they are primarily focused on the latter and are working to get an early PS5 launch and plan to optimize for PS4. Jones said, “Our goal for Quantum Error is 60fps even on PS4, and with the PS5 specs we think it’s achievable by forcing it to 4K at that framerate.”

We can’t wait to see what in-game horrors await us when Quantum Error comes to PS5 (even if they keep us up at night).
