New Thor: Love & Thunder Trailer Releasing Monday

The new Thor: Love and Thunder trailer will debut on Monday. Marvel Studios continues its Phase 4 efforts with the Taika Waititi-directed film starring Chris Hemsworth as the God of Thunder. As one of the remaining original Avengers who’s still active in the MCU, it’s an understatement to say that the anticipation for Thor: Love and Thunder is very high, especially considering how well-received Thor’s last solo film Ragnarok was.
Marketing for Thor: Love and Thunder started fairly late, with the first trailer not debuting until the middle of April. Marvel Studios was busy promoting Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Moon Knight, and with those now officially out, Kevin Feige and his team have started shifting their focus on other projects down the line. On the Disney+’s side of things, there are upcoming show Ms. Marvel and She-Hulk, with Thor: Love and Thunder set to be released on the big screen in July. With that, Marvel Studios’ promotional efforts for the flick are slowly ramping up, with the film’s next trailer now officially dated.

In a new post on Thor‘s official Twitter account, it has been confirmed that the new Thor: Love and Thunder trailer will release on Monday. Instead of a usual social media drop, however, the new footage will debut during Game 4 of the NBA Eastern Conference Finals. The clip features Waititi, Hemsworth, and Tessa Thompson, alongside Cleveland Cavalier’s Kevin Lov. Check out the video below:

There’s so much to be excited about when it comes to Thor: Love and Thunder. Aside from the continuation of Thor’s story, the film also features the return of Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who will become Mighty Thor in the new movie. Meanwhile, the Guardians of the Galaxy will be involved in the flick as well as Gorr the God Butcher, the narrative’s primary antagonist who will be played by Christian Bale. The first trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder focused on Thor’s healing journey after the events of the Infinity Saga. The Asgardian royalty is seen meditating and working out. Still, he will be roped back into his fighting days as New Asgard is seemingly attacked. Given this, it remains to be seen if the new Thor: Love and Thunder trailer will see more of the other characters, particularly Mighty Thor and Gorr.

Marvel Studios can get away with not aggressively marketing Thor: Love and Thunder because MCU audiences are already so invested in it. As for the general audience, it helps that it stars one of the original Avengers in terms of brand recognition. That being said, considering how good Waititi, Hemsworth, and Thompson are in doing these promotional shoots, it doesn’t seem like they would mind making more of these fun snippets to get the word out about the blockbuster.
