As fans learned in the first issue of this series, Terry McGinnis teams up with Derek Powers to retrieve the secrets hidden in Bruce Wayne’s Bat Cave, secrets that Powers hopes to steal and profit from. After the Powers bought Wayne’s company, he let Bruce wither when he revealed himself to be Batman, and Bruce was sent to prison for his vigilance. However, Powers didn’t stop looking for Bruce for anything he was interested in, so he hired Terry McGinnis to break into the Batcave and steal a costume that even Batman was too afraid to wear – the iconic costume from Batman Beyond. Terry McGinnis might never have been Batman if Nightwing had been doing his job as a law enforcement officer rather than a slave to his billionaire boss.
Now that Terry has taken the case and is on his way to becoming Batman’s rightful successor, he’s about to get the revenge he so desperately craves. If Nightwing had done his job as an officer of the law instead of as a minion of his billionaire boss, Terry McGinnis may never have become Batman.
