We are very happy as Easter approaches. We really love making Easter crafts. They are so refreshing, they bring us so much joy.
You can learn how to draw a rabbit and include your own in this craft. When you are done with your carrots, you can enjoy our Easter counting coloring pages.
We’ve been playing with hooks lately.
Today we found a way to use them in this craft – we hid the Easter bunny inside the carrot, and when you open the carrot, the bunny comes out with a bunch of Easter eggs.
It’s a very good job.
I bet you’d love to join us in prepping this project today, so grab your tools and let’s go!
How to make this Paper Carrot Bunny
What do you need:
- orange card stock
- pale orange colored paper
- green paper
- pin
- gum
- the scissors
- stapler circle
- circle ruler
- pencil
- white paper
- light blue paper
- washi tapes
- black marker
- white marker or white gel pen or white pencil (optional, if you want to add texture to the carrot at the end)
step by step tutorial
Carrot
Draw a carrot on the orange deck of cards. We have provided the dimensions so you can see the approximate size.
Cut the carrot.
Draw a circle inside the carrot (the circle should start about 3cm from the top of the carrot).
Draw a larger circle than the one you drilled before. This largest measures 4.4 cm in diameter. We used the circle-shaped ruler to draw.
Cut the circle.
Mechanism
This circle should be large enough to cover the hole in the rail and have enough room to push a cotter pin through the top.
Now thread a cotter pin through the top of the circle, then through the carrot.
Separate the ends of the pin so that the ring remains attached to the carrot.
If you want to make the other carrot you see in the picture, cut it in half and push the pin through one side of the carrot like in the picture.
This way it will open to the side.
carrot leaves
Draw three carrot leaves on green colored paper.
Cut them.
Arrange the leaves like we did in this photo and glue them together.
Then stick the leaves on the carrot.
The back of the carrot should look like this.
Now draw a circle with a diameter of 4.4 cm on light orange colored paper.
Cut.
Apply a little glue to the back of the carrot, around the hole in the perforated circle, but only on the top and sides.
Leave the bottom of the perforated circle hole without glue.
Attach the pale orange circle to it.
Notice the non-sticky part in this photo? Did you do the same?
Ok, the two carrots should now look like this.
Rabbit
Draw a bunny on light blue paper.
Note that we also drew a vertical stripe on the underside of the bunny.
This band will help attach the bunny to the carrot.
Draw the bunny with a black pencil.
Cut.
Draw and cut out two little bunny eyes.
Attach the eyes to the bunny.
Glue the bunny inside the carrot.
Make sure you haven’t applied any glue to the tape yet. We will do that later.
Take some washi tapes and cut some small eggs.
Stick the eggs into the carrot so that it covers part of the bunny.
Now apply glue to the light blue strip and glue it to the carrot.
If you want your carrot to look even better, you can add texture to it with a white marker, white gel pen or white pencil, or even a black marker.
This step is optional; You can leave the carrots as if you had decided.
Now open your carrots.
Truth!
Happy Easter!
We hope you enjoy this work.
It’s great fun for us and definitely one of our favorites!
Aren’t they cute?
