Pokemon Go Therian Forme Thundurus Raid Counters and movesets

These Pokemon Go Therian Forme Thundurus Raid Counters will help you catch one of the three Wilderness Legends of the Unova region. It returns in Pokemon Go Raids, but instead of the usual Incarnate form, Legendary will appear in Therian Forme for Pokemon Go.

Similar to Tornadus and Therian Forme, Thundurus will look slightly different and have a different moveset than the Incarnate Form. Due to the new moveset, responses against this Thundurus will be slightly different than if you received its Incarnate form.

Therian Forme Thundurus returns in Raids from Tuesday April 5 through Tuesday April 12, so trainers have weaknesses to retaliate and capture as many as possible.

But don’t worry, we’ve compiled this guide to help coaches find the best bets against Therian Forme Thundurus.

Pokemon Go Therian Form Thundurus Raid Counters

Therian Forme Thundurus, like the Incarnate form, is an Electric Flying-type Pokemon. This unique spell makes it weak against only two types: Rock and Ice.

Luckily, there are two Mega Pokemon that can help trainers take down Therian Forme Thundurus more easily, but picking them is a double-edged sword.

Mega Aerodactyl is the only Rock-type Mega in Pokemon Go so far. This specialization makes it the first Pokémon to use Rock-type moves, as it can also boost moves for your team and others. However, Mega Aerodactyl is weak against Electric-type attacks, which Therian Forme Thundurus will encounter in abundance.

Mega Abomasnow is the only Ice-type Mega in Pokemon Go so far and can overcome Therian Forme Thundurus’ Ice weakness and increase your team’s moves. Mega Abomasnow’s Grass spell makes it resistant to Electric-type attacks, but Therian Forme Thundurus will have ways to damage it, but we’ll get to that in the section below.

Trainers looking for non-mega options should look into the basics of Rock-type Pokémon. Tyranitar, Rhyperior, Rampardos, and Gigalith are great options for taking on Thundurus. However, there will be ways to hurt him with at least one of Legendary’s moves.

Staples like Mamoswine, Weavile, and Galarian Darmanitran are easy picks for coaches looking to incorporate a number of ice types.

Here is a list of options trainers can bring to the fight against Therian Forme Thundurus.

Therian Form Thunurus Moveset

Interestingly enough, Therian Forme Thundurus doesn’t have the Flying-type moves he can use, despite that type. This is the advantage any Turf or Fighting type trainer wants to bring to the fight. However, Therian Forme Thundurus, like many other legendaries, will have a variety of different moves.

Trainers should be aware of the Volt Switch for their fast attack. This move will receive a STAB bonus and deal good damage to all non-Grass, Dragon, Electric, or Earth-type Pokemon. Bite is Therian Forme Thundurus’ other fast attack option and doesn’t do much in Legendary. In fact, Pokemon will resist this attack, just like Weavile and Tyranitar.

It’s his charged attacks that can turn the tide of battle in Thundurus’ favor. Thunder and Thunderbolt are two Electric-type attacks it can use, so it’s the same as Volt Switch, which Pokemon resists and does well against. Sludge Wave is a Poison-type move that Rock-types will resist. While rock type teams benefit Thundurus from this move, Mega Abomasnow is actually weak against him.

Focus Blast is the last charged attack option. This martial type move will actually deal super effective damage against ice and rock types. If you fight a Thundurus with this move, you might have a long fight. However, since there is a 25% chance, coaches should always fight with a Rock or Ice type team.

Sludge Wave is a Poison-type move that Rock types will resist. Rock-type teams will benefit for Thundurus having this move while Mega Abomasnow is actually weak to it.

However, since there’s just a 25 percent chance it will have it trainers should still go into battle with either a Rock or Ice-type team.
