The New York Marathon is 26.2 miles, starting at the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge in Staten Island and crossing five New York boroughs before ending in Central Park.

When does the lottery open for the New York City Marathon?

This year, the lottery will open for places in the New York Marathon Wednesday, March 9 at 12:00 p.m. ET and will close on Wednesday March 23. The draw for these registrations will take place on Wednesday, March 30. You can enter the lottery on the race website.

Those that enter the ballot are called “unsecured applications”. There will be three different draws, one for “NYC Metro Area Applicants” residing in New York City and within a 60 mile radius, and one for “Domestic Applicants” who are US citizens living outside the area. metropolitan New York. Runners completing the 2021 New York Virtual Marathon

If you have completed the TCS New York Virtual Marathon below the Guaranteed Entry level or Team For Kids level and your race meets the terms and conditions, you can claim your Non-Free Guaranteed Entry during the claim window. registration (March 9 – March 23).

If you are a fast runner, you can qualify to participate in the 2022 New York City Marathon. You must have run a race that meets the qualifying time standards between November 1, 2019 and March 8, 2022.
