The holidays are approaching and we love doing Christmas crafts (check out our animated paper dolls with Christmas photos and make your own pop-up Christmas cards).
We do this every year and it comes with the same warmth, excitement and happiness – it’s never boring, you know.
We wanted to share these cute reindeer paper toys with you this Christmas. So you can put them under the Christmas tree – a lot.
You will make everyone’s day bright and joyful.
So who wants a homemade surprise box for Christmas?
Let’s go!
How to make a reindeer paper toy
What do you need:
- brown deck of cards (textured)
- deck of brown cards (smooth)
- red colored paper (or a red pompom)
- white card stock
- black lining
- the scissors
- gum
- circle ruler
step by step tutorial
Trace or print the box template you will need for the project.
Draw the same box pattern on the brown (textured) deck of cards.
Cut with scissors.
Fold the paper where the lines are.
Apply glue ONLY to the folded parallel parts you see in this photo (three of my fingers press the folds and the glue stick shows you where to apply the glue).
Assemble the box and wait for the glue to dry.
Close the box.
Take the smooth brown deck of cards and draw two boards.
Cut them out using scissors.
Make a crease on each wood.
Apply glue to the horns and glue them to the box (glue one to the left of the box and one to the right).
Draw two eye circles and cut out the eyes using scissors.
Glue the eyes to the box.
Take a piece of red colored paper and form a small ball.
That would be the reindeer’s nose. You can even use a red nose pom pom instead of a piece of paper.
Apply some glue to the red nose and stick it in the middle of the box, between the eyes.
Our reindeer should look like this. You can now put treats or a Christmas message inside the box.
We like to put sugar in it.
It’s over – it was easy!
Yeah !
