RHOC: Braunwyn Windham-Burke To Lead OC Pride Parade & Festival

Braunwyn shared that she faced a lot of homophobia while being on RHOC. Former star Kelly Dodd alleged that Braunwyn faked her sobriety and sexuality as a storyline for the show. After being fired from RHOC, Kelly blamed Braunwyn for bringing the franchise down with her “woke” narrative. Braunwyn also stated in the past that the other cast members made jokes about her being intimate with other women, which she called “microaggressions” against her. Braunwyn asserted, “Historically, the OC is a very conservative and small minded place.” Braunwyn hopes that representing gay people in the OC Pride event will make the area more welcoming to “queer folks.”

Since Braunwyn’s coming out, The Real Housewives of Miami cast its first gay couple, Julia Lemigova and her wife Martina Navratilova. Fans may remember Martina as the powerhouse tennis star who dominated in the 1980’s. Although Martina shies away from the cameras, she has shared that she puts up with filming RHOM for Julia. Braunwyn may be done with The Real Housewives of Orange County, but she credits the show for the opportunity to be a face for the LGBTQ+ and sober communities.
