RHOC: Shannon Beador Criticized For Hanging Out With Kelly Dodd

Star of The Real Housewives of Orange County, Shannon Beador, recently posted pictures of her hanging out with former RHOC star Kelly Dodd, and fans are dragging her for it. Kelly Dodd joined RHOC in season 11 and was one of the most controversial castmates in the franchise. She was known for her sharp tongue and shocked the other housewives with her expletives during a cast dinner. She and RHOC star Heather Dubrow particularly butted heads with each other, prompting the 7 Year Stitch creator to leave after season 11. Kelly stayed on RHOC for five more seasons but revealed she was fired after season 15.

Following her RHOC exit, Kelly has managed to stay in the press for her controversial statements. During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, she made a comment that the virus was “God’s way of thinning the herd,” which led to her being fired as an ambassador by Positive Beverage. Kelly was also blasted for a past racist comment she made about not liking Black guys and again for a transphobic rant to a fan in a Cameo video.
RHOC star Shannon recently shared a series of photos on her Instagram feed of her and Kelly hanging out over the Memorial Day weekend. RHOC fans criticized her for partying with the controversial housewife. A fan wrote, “Really Shannon you’re still friends with Kelly? After the things she said about the school shooting in Uvalde. You are the company you keep.” Kelly was recently in the headlines again for comparing the Texas school shooting to 9-11. Another fan commented, “You being around Kelly lowers your stock about 99%.”

Shannon and Kelly had their fair share of ups and downs on RHOC. Their friendship suffered a blow when Kelly got in the way of a defamation lawsuit filed against Shannon and former RHOC star Tamra Judge. Shannon shared that the two repaired their friendship after realizing they had a lot in common. However, many RHOC viewers are ready to drop Shannon as their favorite housewife after hanging out with Kelly. One fan wrote, “Still hanging out with Kelly Dodd. Not a good look. I guess you’re showing us who you really are…guilty by association. Definitely not my favorite RHOC member anymore.”

Although Kelly is no longer on RHOC, she has kept up with season 16 and slammed it as being the worst she’s ever seen. When asked if she would return to the show, Kelly shared that while she was happy in her current situation, the money would be too good to pass up. RHOC has lost a lot of fan favorites recently, such as Vicki Gunvalson and Tamra. Heather made a return after leaving RHOC for five seasons but would most likely leave if Kelly is re-hired.
