She-Hulk Secretly Makes Dr Doom’s MCU Debut More Likely

Although the MCU seems to have changed Titania’s origin story, Doctor Doom could still give Mary her powers. In Marvel comics, Doctor Doom recruited Mary to fight for him in the Secret Wars, using alien technology to empower her. Although MCU projects like Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness have hinted that Phase 4 is building to Secret Wars, a Marvel comic storyline that involves multiple alternate universes combining into one planet, the MCU has not reached this point yet. In contrast, Doctor Doom did not enlist Titania in the comics until after the Secret Wars had already begun. However, the MCU could easily change the order of events to feature Doctor Doom preparing for Secret Wars by giving Titania powers, further building up to the massive multiversal event.

In addition, Doctor Doom’s involvement is supported by the fact that there currently are not many ways for new heroes and villains to gain powers in the MCU. There is no super-soldier serum left, and both the Infinity Stones and the Heart-Shaped Herb were destroyed. While using her powers, Titania does not turn green, so she should not have any connection to the Hulk. It is also unlikely that Titania will be retconned into a mutant or have any connection to the multiple types of magic in the MCU. With all of these methods unavailable, there do not seem to be many options left for Titania aside from Doctor Doom’s alien technology. Due to this, Titania’s inclusion in the She-Hulk: Attorney at Law trailer suggests that Doctor Doom will soon make his MCU debut.

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law premieres August 17, 2022, on Disney+.
