The Texas Chain Saw Massacre Game Reveals Family House Map
Developers behind The Texas Chain Saw Massacre game have shown off a closer look at the Family House map, which appears to feature various points of interest. Gun Interactive and Sumo Digital unveiled The Texas Chain Saw Massacre multiplayer game during the 2021 Game Awards, teasing an asymmetric online experience akin to Friday the 13th: The Game. Instead of trying to outwit Jason Voorhees at Camp Crystal Lake, Gun Interactive’s latest title will task players with ducking and dodging Leatherface, specifically the version that appeared on screen in the character’s 1974 debut.
Since the project’s announcement late last year, Gun Interactive has continued to drop new bits of information piecemeal. And it seems as though the development team’s commitment to authenticity knows no bounds. For one, Friday the 13th’s Kane Hodder will reprise his role as Leatherface for the game, having featured as a stunt double for the character in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III. And Ed Neal, who portrayed the Hitchhiker in Tobe Hooper’s original film, will assume the same part in the upcoming interactive adventure. With series veterans returning for The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, it only makes sense that the game’s locales similarly reflect incredible attention to detail.

After recently showing off recreated locations from the 1974 classic, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre developers have unleashed a closer look at the Family House map. The top-down view of the map features the house front and center, with a few points of interest also scattered around. In the tweet accompanying the image in question, Gun Interactive further teased that similar posts for the Gas Station and Slaughterhouse locales will surface sometime this week.
You’ve seen the screenshots, you’ve seen the side by side. Now take a closer look at the playable space on The Family House map in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre.

All three of the aforementioned maps were previously confirmed several months ago. Whether or not more play spaces will feature when The Texas Chain Saw Massacre launches presently remains a mystery. But the overview shot of the Family House map suggests Gun Interactive’s unique take on asymmetrical horror will offer users plenty of room to move around.
Whereas Friday the 13th: The Game’s slasher experience pit seven survivors against Jason, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre plans to up the ante with 3v4 matches. Thus, three family members will prey on four victims, none of whom will be able to kill their attackers. And since the game takes place in the months leading up to the first film, longtime fans of the series should probably anticipate a fair few surprises.
