Yoda Missed One Incredibly Simple Way to Stop Palpatine’s Jedi Purge

Even though the plan to expose the hidden Sith within the Senate was sound on paper–with Palpatine’s plot to kill the idea being proof that it would have worked–the fact that it was never put into action really goes to show how truly powerful Palpatine was at that time both in the ways of the Force as well as his sheer influence over the Republic. Palpatine was able to cloud the minds of every Jedi he worked with, including Master Yoda, on a day-to-day basis which is an insane feat of strength for even the most powerful Force-user. After everything Palpatine did to take control of the galaxy, there is no way he would allow something as simple as a Midi-chlorian test to bring him down, and after killing the Jedi who proposed it, it is all-too possible that Palpatine made an effort to cloud that possibility from every other Jedi’s mind moving forward–something that is very much within his reach to accomplish.

While it wasn’t Yoda who proposed the idea to test the Galactic Republic’s government for Midi-chlorians, he was one of the most influential members of the Jedi Council and could have initiated a plan like that at any point. Given his failure in defeating Darth Sideous in the films, this would have redeemed Yoda before the need for redemption would ever be necessary, thus ensuring the Jedi’s survival in the Star Wars universe and bringing an end to Palpatine’s plot against the Jedi and the Republic.
