Zelda: Ocarina Of Time’s Worst Items To Keep In Bottles

Catching fish has been a part of many Zelda games, but they’re not the best things players can keep in bottles in Ocarina of Time. Aside from giving Lord Jabu-Jabu one to enter his stomach, their only use is to be sold for Rupees, and they don’t have any use when fighting off the hostile creatures of Hyrule. Catching a big enough one will reward players with the Golden Scale, which will let Link dive deeper underwater, but the fish itself is still only as useful as the rest, and is best sold to the Buyer for 50 Rupees.

In one of Zelda: Ocarina of Time‘s difficult dungeons, the Ice Cavern, players need a certain item known as Blue Fire in order to progress. It’s vital for the dungeon itself, but it has no other use outside of clearing away its Red Ice, so it has no real use outside of that single situation. It can’t even be sold to shops, which means that after leaving the Ice Cavern, players are better off not taking any Blue Fire with them for the rest of Ocarina of Time.

Possibly the worst bottled item in Zelda: Ocarina of Time is the Poe Spirit. They can be obtained from defeating Poes and quickly snatching up the resulting soul when it drops, but it’s better if players don’t put this item in a bottle in Zelda: Ocarina of Time. They have a chance to either heal Link or deplete his hearts until he has less than one remaining when he drinks them, and when other healing items like Lon Lon Milk or the Red and Blue Potions are available, they’re not worth the risk. They also only sell for 10 Rupees, so players are better off not bothering with them. Zelda: Ocarina of Time‘s Big Poe Spirits, however, are necessary for obtaining the fourth bottle, so they should take care to ensure they’re not leaving those behind.
